Poetry goes Viral - Literally!

Plugging in...

When the corona virus came about,

The artist in the Tutor came out.

Remember when the Pandy hit?

The entire world had a hissy fit.

Some took out their needles to knit,

And others found a ball to hit.

Some raised beautiful gardens with flowers,

Others baked goods with caloric powers.

Vegetable seeds became as precious as gold,

Impossible to find, no more being sold.

Some stayed in their houses and stewed,

While others went out protesting, and booed.

Practicing safe six became the new norm,

As PPE and sanitizer took the world by storm.

The Tutor kept remotely plugging away,

Working with clients, keeping Covid at bay.

Many sat down and sewed some masks,

Others were consumed with household tasks.

Amazon and Instacart made deliveries to doors,

Being careful to leave packages on the floors.

People read more far and wide,

Book clubs met on the virtual side.

Cooking became a national obsession,

While some admittedly sank into depression.

Schools closed up all their classrooms,

Teaching took place in the new class-zooms.

The air worldwide became much cleaner,

While all the politics got a little meaner.

Puzzles and games were coveted things,

People shared them, as they did many things.

Stimulus checks gave us a timely reprieve,

Showing us hope and something to believe.

The stock market went on a roller coaster ride,

As every country told people to stay inside.

Some gained the Covid mighty 15,

Others embraced fitness to the extreme.

Countries re-opened in thoughtful phases,

We all walked apart through 6 foot mazes.

One day we will gather more closely to reminisce,

And once again safely greet others with a kiss.

Kindness, generosity and creativity abound,

As a new way of living we have found.

Scientists and others are working day and night,

To vaccinate us from this virus fright.

Heroes are lauded, they come in all types,

Contact-less paying became the new hype.

No words of thanks are enough for our heroes

As they reduce virus numbers back to zeroes.

ALWAYS REMEMBER: before calling for help - is it plugged in, and is it turned on?

Unplugged
